The 2820 tipper is equipped with a well-built cabin along with plenty of features to help the driver operate it efficiently, stay safe and control it effortlessly. Since the tipper is part of the modular platform, the customer has the freedom the select the cabin and features as affordability and needs. However, Ashok Leyland has a gamut of features available to choose, such as cable gearshift, for shifting gears and reducing efforts, thus reducing fatigue. The larger 21 LPM steering pump for lower steering efforts. An integrated pedal unit for brake and clutch pedal, which are mounted on a single unit, eliminates brake and clutch settings for longer life and durability.
The advanced digital driver assistance to help the driver enhance the performance considerably. It has features such as gear shift advisory system, fuel economy display, trip wise distance and milage, current gear display, etc. The driver can also access the DEF gauge, engine hours, air pressure gauge and overall driver performance score and got driver-friendly tell tales, etc. Essentially, Ashok Leyland has made the 2820 tipper most advanced and a huge jump from the earlier generation of tippers, a sign of Indian trucking making huge strides towards modern and advanced trucks-truly global ones!
The 2820 tipper targeted at several key constructions, mining, and infrastructure applications, to take on tough duties, it is fitted with the new Ashok Leyland’s in-house H series 6-cylinder, CRS with iGen-6 technology BS6 engine, which now produces 200hp of power at 700 Nm of torque and tuned to a 6-speed gearbox.
The key aggregates to supplement the engine’s performance include a 380 mm organic clutch of a single dry plate with an air-assisted hydraulic booster. The front suspension is a semi-elliptic multi-leaf with a parabolic option while the rear suspension is bogie type / NRS semi-elliptic. The brakes are full air dual line with ABS, and the parking brake is on rear wheels only. For better power, the propeller shaft is available in 2 or 3 pieces, the rear axle is fully floating single speed, and the front axle is forged I-section in reverse Elliot type. The chassis frame is 275 X 75 X 8 mm in bolted construction. The gradeability is 28.54% / 43.17%. The 2820 tipper is offered in three cabin options, including enhanced cowl, a sleeper cabin in economy and value, and Premium variants.
Tippers are mostly deployed to work in tough operating and weather conditions, and hence safety is paramount for the operators.
